First, try to adjust the screen resolution to something more comfortable and see if the problem goes away. If not, go to the next step. Borrow a working monitor from another computer and try it. Update the drivers to the video card. Test your computer's memory and replace the memory if tests show any problem.
If not, do that. Also remove the battery and power plug, hold in the power button for about 30 seconds, then try it again. If that also does not work, check with an external monitor maybe the screen is bad.
4. Try a rescue disc. If none of the above has worked, you can try booting from a rescue disk or USB drive. If you have one, the Windows DVD can be used, but otherwise you can download (using another computer - obviously) a rescue disc image and either burn it to a CD or DVD, or extract it to a USB flash drive.
This happens on Acer and Dell laptops occasionally. Basically disconnecting the battery for a while (maybe an hour or 2), or just leave it uncharged for a week for the battery to draingets them going again. Acer have a pinhole you have to press into to reset the battery as it's not removable. 2. Open_Illustrator_867.
Scenario: power went out. Monitor won't turn on, so you wanna unplug both power sources, disconnect hdmi cable from monitor, re-connect power sources from male side first and then female side to monitor, replug your hdmi cable and hopefully it should be on! 1. PterodactylOfDeath. • 5 mo. ago.
1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off). 2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop. 3. Turn on the external monitor. 4. Turn on the laptop. NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.
